The Minnesota Vikings won their third consecutive game in Week 8 by beating the Green Bay Packers on the road despite a season-ending injury to Kirk Cousins.

The Minnesota Vikings went into Lambeau Field and handled the Green Bay Packers relatively easily to bring their record to 4-4. However, the team left Green Bay without much joy as Kirk Cousins exited with what appears to be a season-ending Achilles injury.

With the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, there is a chance that the Vikings bring somebody in to carry them across the finish line, but Jaren Hall could also be given the nod to see how he fares as a rookie. A dominant win over a divisional opponent is not supposed to feel like this, but that's the reality the Vikings are stuck in right now.

Minnesota's defense played an excellent game, and the offense did enough to keep the ball moving throughout the game and take a multi-score lead into the fourth quarter. The air in the balloon was deflating as the Vikings ran out the clock.

As the team prepares for a matchup with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, there is no clear answer who the quarterback is going to be. The trade deadline can now go in a number of different directions after already shifting between buying and selling in a matter of a few weeks.

Regardless of how the season unfolds from here, it is still important to credit the players who are playing at a high level. Several Vikings stepped up in Week 8, and they deserve recognition for their performance.
