2. Josh Metellus - S

The Vikings are having an incredible season from their safety room. Harrison Smith has returned to his old self and has been flying everywhere for Brian Flores. Cam Bynum has really shined as the primary deep safety and was stellar once again on Sunday in Green Bay. Josh Metellus, the clear third safety, has been quite the surprise as well.

Metellus is the special teams captain for this team, but he is playing like he wants to be a defensive captain. He is used all over the field as a blitzer, coverage guy, and run-stopper, and he has done well pretty much wherever they need him.

He came up with a timely interception of Jordan Love on Sunday, ripping the ball out of the receiver's hands and returning it all the way to the Green Bay 20-yard line to set the Vikings up for another score. The score was 17-3 at the time, and his interception helped put the team up 24-3 in the second half.

Minnesota has been searching for turnovers, and they are starting to come in bunches. Josh Metellus and Cam Bynum have been responsible for several turnovers over the last three weeks as Bynum has two interceptions and Metellus now has an interception and a forced fumble.

For as devastating as the Lewis Cine draft pick has looked thus far, the rest of the group is stepping up and making plays. The Vikings appear to have a really good group of defensive backs to build on.
