This team comes with a condition that is similar to the last two on this list. If Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffers an injury before this year's trade deadline that is expected to keep him out for multiple months, then his team could potentially look into acquiring Kirk Cousins for the remainder of the season.

If you haven't noticed already, the only teams that will likely have a chance to trade for Cousins this year will be the teams that are in desperate need of a quarterback upgrade to save their season.

Mike White is currently the top backup behind Tagovailoa for the Dolphins, and as much of a genius as Miami head coach Mike McDaniel is, even he would have a difficult time leading his team to the Super Bowl with White as his starter.

Cousins' history with the type of offense that McDaniel runs is a big reason why the quarterback could be someone the Dolphins target if they need to replace an injured Tagovailoa before this year's deadline.

Before he was hired by Miami in 2022, McDaniel was essentially Kyle Shanahan's right-hand man during his various coaching stops around the NFL. While McDaniel has added his own elements to the Dolphins' offensive scheme, the core of it still centers around concepts that Cousins ran while working with Shanahan in Washington.

Miami does currently have first and second-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft to use in a trade offer for the Vikings quarterback. Would they be willing to part with one of them if they believed Cousins could help them reach a Super Bowl for the first time since 1984?
