4 previous times the Vikings started 6-6 and everything that happened after

4. 2020 Season
- Final Record: 7-9
- Playoffs?: No
2020 wasn’t a good year for anyone in the sports world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was especially unkind to the Vikings. Minnesota had advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs in 2019, and they brought back a number of the same players for the 2020 season.
Stefon Diggs was a big name who was traded to the Buffalo Bills in the offseason, but then the franchise added Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn in the 2020 NFL Draft a few weeks later.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer’s staff also took a hit when longtime assistant Kevin Stefanski left to become the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Other than that, it should have been clear sailing for Minnesota in 2020.
Not so much, unfortunately. Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and his new weapons began the season by meekly losing five of their first six. After the bye week, things looked good for SKOL nation as Minnesota rallied to win five of six to improve their record to 6-6.
Those same fans then groaned in disappointment as the Vikings closed out the year with three losses in their final four games to end a miserable season with a 7-9 record.
