Landon Collins - S/LB

Brian Flores loves guys who can play multiple positions, and Landon Collins is just that kind of player. Splitting time between safety and linebacker for both the Washington Commanders and New York Giants in his career, Collins has proven he can be a versatile chess piece for any defensive coordinator to use.

The Vikings are expected to use Josh Metellus in a similar way that both the Commanders and Giants used Collins in 2021 and 2022, so it would be unexpected for Minnesota to sign the three-time Pro Bowler.

But it wouldn't hurt for the Vikings to have another guy that can play both linebacker and safety on one defense, especially someone that a team could probably sign at an amount close to the veteran minimum.

Collins, at the very least, could be a camp body that can help mentor Metellus through this process as a hybrid defender.

Collins probably won't see the field as a starter for any team going forward, but the experience he has in multiple different defenses could be very valuable for a team that looks to be competing in 2023 and beyond.
