Who were the Minnesota Vikings players that shined the brightest during the team's impressive win over the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers on Monday?
The Minnesota Vikings were significant underdogs on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers, but they played arguably their best game of the season to pull out a win. The offense made plays when they needed to, and the defense limited San Francisco to just 17 points.
Both sides were crushed by injuries heading into this game, with each team's best player sidelined. Justin Jefferson continues to miss time on the injured reserve list, while the 49ers were without Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel, which proved to be a difference in this one.
Now sitting at 3-4, the Vikings have a much more favorable schedule ahead of them with a chance to make a run at the playoffs if they can string some wins together. Even with Justin Jefferson out, the offense is finding enough ways to keep the ball moving and stay in games, which has been vital the past two weeks.
Minnesota will now prepare for an important divisional matchup with the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 with the mindset that they can compete for the division down the stretch. As a fan of meaningful football, this is where the season needs to really begin for the Vikings.
