Harrison Smith - S
Like Adam Thielen and Eric Kendricks, Harrison Smith is a player that will likely have a spot in the Vikings Ring of Honor at U.S. Bank Stadium someday. But even with his status as a franchise icon, Smith's days in purple could be numbered, and it could come to an end next offseason.
Smith was a popular cut candidate for Minnesota this offseason before he reached an 11th-hour agreement on a pay cut. While Smith admitted he thought about retirement during his press conference at OTAs, there's a chance he might want to come back for one more season.
But at age 36, Smith might not fit into the Vikings' plans. Minnesota already has Camryn Bynum and 2022 first-round pick Lewis Cine waiting in the wings. If Jay Ward can't lock down the slot corner position, he might be moved to safety, which could create a log jam at the position.
That could lead to another move with Smith, who holds a $19.2 million cap hit for next season. If Smith performs well, there's a chance he could reach a deal that allows him to finish his career in Minnesota. But if he plays at a replacement level, it could be another tough goodbye for one of the greatest defensive players in Vikings history.
