4th-fastest Vikings player
Lewis Cine - S
40-yard dash time: 4.37 seconds
Lewis Cine is also expected to expand his role in 2023, as he only managed to play in three games as a rookie, and the majority of his playing time came on special teams downs.
He suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 4 last year when the Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints in London, England. He has been recovering nicely from surgery and is expected to be ready to go for the beginning of the 2023 season.
Although Vikings fans didn’t get to see much of Cine as a rookie, the former Georgia Bulldog showed his ability to make plays on the ball in coverage and to make strong tackles in the open field during his time in college.
Harrison Smith and Cam Bynum are both still going to play the bulk of the snaps at the safety positions next season, though Cine should have plenty of opportunities to play in nickel or dime packages.
At his NFL combine before the 2022 NFL draft, he his 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds, resulting in the fourth-fastest time on Minnesota's roster. Vikings fans should expect to see a lot more of Cine this season.
