Shelby Harris - DL

2022 Team: Seattle Seahawks

The interior of the Vikings' defensive line, you could argue, is more concerning than their cornerback room. The trio of Dean Lowry, Khyiris Tonga, and Harison Phillips should scare absolutely no one next season.

Minnesota struggled to create any sort of pressure from the interior in 2022 under Ed Donatell, and with Brian Flores in the picture as the team's new defensive coordinator, you would expect that to change. In order for the Vikings to make any significant improvements to their defensive front in 2023, they need to bring in a guy like former Bronco and Seahawk Shelby Harris.

Harris' numbers are not going to pop out at anyone, but one cannot underestimate what his experience could do for a unit like Minnesota's defense, which is lacking in that department. Harris has 24.5 sacks in his career, which is more than Lowry, Tonga, and Phillips combined.

Age is definitely not on Harris' side, as he will be 32 by the time the Vikings kick off against the Buccaneers in Week 1. But this should not be a factor in whether Minnesota signs him or not, as Harris has the ability to play as a 3-4 defensive end, a 4-3 defensive tackle, and as a nose tackle, which should be very appealing to Minnesota.
