Marcus Peters - CB

2022 Team: Baltimore Ravens

Of all the positions listed in this article, the Vikings are least likely to add a cornerback prior to the start of the season. They selected two in this year's draft, signed two in free agency, and also have two coming back after injury-riddled rookie seasons.

While it seems unlikely, the Vikings do want to compete in 2023. If these young players are slow to pick up Brian Flores' defensive scheme, then the front office could look to bring in a veteran. That veteran could be Marcus Peters.

Peters is 30 years old but is a known ballhawk with 32 career interceptions. While the splashy play has been his bread and butter, he is no slouch when it comes to run defense, with 346 career tackles. He graded out just a hair under 70 last season, so it's clear he's still continuing to play well despite his age and recent injuries to his lower extremities.

Peters could hear his phone ring from the Vikings if the young players are progressing behind schedule or if there's a significant injury to one or two players on the depth chart. He could step in and make an impact the way he has his entire seven seasons in the league.
