There are a handful of Vikings who could get slapped with the bust label if their 2023 seasons go awry.

There is a ton of buzz surrounding the Minnesota Vikings as they kick off the 2023 season with the start of training camp. They are the defending NFC North Champions, and that kick ass offense that carried the team returns minus just one component in RB Dalvin Cook.

There is also hope for the much-maligned defense as they replaced their old defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, with the much more aggressive and attacking style of Brian Flores and that can only be seen as an upgrade. They've also gone with more youthful options at cornerback and linebacker and while there could be bumps in the road, the upside of these young players is tantalizing.

Speaking of young players, there are a handful on this team that really need to make an impact this season. These players were mostly all drafted very high, and either have had disappointing first years in the league or haven't come close to meeting the lofty expectations many fans and folks in the media have set for them. These players could start hearing that dreaded word "bust" being associated with them when their name is spoken if they underperform again in 2023.

I've left players off this list who are clearly already busts. So don't expect to see Jalen Reagor, Ross Blacklock, or Troy Dye named here. All they can do is try and salvage their careers at this point, but most fans and probably even coaches aren't expecting much from those underachievers. That being said, here are five members of the Minnesota Vikings who could be labeled busts after the 2023 season.
