Jalen Reagor - WR

The Vikings acquired the former first-round wide receiver just before the start of the 2022 season. Minnesota gave up multiple early Day 3 draft picks to acquire the electrifying return man to handle those duties and provide some veteran depth in the wide receiver room.

Unfortunately, a change of scenery did little good for Jalen Reagor. After a subpar first season with the Vikings, the bust label that was floating around his name is looking more like a bust tattoo. As a receiver, Reagor was an afterthought in the offense.

There was some hope he could be a gadget type of player who Kevin O'Connell could work up some trick plays for, and worst case, it was thought he could be a guy who just flies down the field on a "go" route, taking the top off a defense. Those things didn't materialize, and Reagor ended his first season with the purple with just eight receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown.

The big problem was that Reagor was just as ineffective as a returner. He averaged 6.4 yards per punt return which ranked near the bottom of the entire league. The Vikings opted not to pick up his fifth-year option, and now he'll be scrapping in camp to make the roster.

His biggest competition will be in the form of Brandon Powell. Powell is another receiver who also serves as a punt returner and averaged 7.4 yards per return a season ago. There are also undrafted wide receivers like Thayer Thomas and Malik Knowles who have return skills. Reagor will have to live up to his first-round potential in camp this season, or his tenure with the Vikings could end after one season.
