Chris Reed - OG

Chris Reed was brought in last year, and it was assumed he could be the team's new starter at center, as he was an experienced veteran who had graded out highly in the past. Garrett Bradbury was coming off a down season, and Reed was seen as someone who could push for his job, and many believed he would actually unseat the former first-rounder.

Bradbury easily won that job after Reed suffered an elbow injury early in camp. After his recovery, it was thought Reed might push Ed Ingram for the starting right guard spot after the rookie struggled the first half of the season.

That didn't happen either, and Reed never got on the field until that disaster in Green Bay when Bradbury and Schlottmann both were out, and Reed was forced to play center. That didn't start well, but his play improved the more snaps he took.

Reed enters the 2023 preseason clearly on the roster bubble. His versatility will help him, but he'll be in a war with players like Austin Schlottman, Sam Schlueter, and Alan Ali for a spot on the offensive line depth chart. He'll need to perform well in camp and stay healthy to keep his job. Otherwise, he'll be another Viking who was one and done in Minnesota.
