D.J. Wonnum - OLB

D.J. Wonnum has proven to be a solid pass rusher over his three-year career in the league. He's amassed 15 sacks in 47 games, showing a quick get-off and relentless motor on his way to the quarterback. He doesn't provide a ton in terms of rush defense, but for a guy in a rotational role, doing one thing well is just fine.

Wonnum is assumed by most to make the final 53-man roster, but there is a contingent out there who think he could be a surprise cut. The reason for this is the thought that the Vikings are unlikely to re-sign him after the season, and they may instead elect to keep younger pass rushers like Luiji Vilian and Andre Carter II.

More info about how Wonnum is performing in this year's camp would give us monitoring of the situation and an idea of which way Minnesota could be leaning regarding his future, but there hasn't been much more than a sniff about him.

There haven't been more than a couple of peeps on how Wonnum looks in practices or drills. We have no idea how Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has been using him or whether or not he's acclimating himself to this new attacking style of defense.

On paper, Wonnum seems to be an ideal fit for Flores' defensive scheme. But again, without hearing much about his performances, it's hard to know for sure.
