Troy Reeder - ILB

The Vikings signed veteran linebacker Troy Reeder last March. He was brought in to provide some experience to a young corps of linebackers and also to help out on special teams.

He was seen as a guy with a decent chance to make the final roster, but through two weeks of training camp, there hasn't been much buzz surrounding his name.

Reeder needed to have a good camp to ensure his spot on the 53-man roster. Instead of hearing about him shooting a gap and sacking a quarterback or dropping into coverage to make an excellent play on the ball while covering Minnesota tight end Johnny Mundt, the focus has all been on Ivan Pace Jr., an undrafted free-agent linebacker.

Pace has been the talk of Vikings training camp this summer, and Reeder has been relegated to a side note and afterthought.

Reeder didn't do much to create momentum for him to stick around with Minnesota after his performance in the preseason opener against the Seahawks, and at this point, he looks like a favorite to be cut at the end of August.

If that comes to pass, Vikings fans may soon forget the Troy Reeder era in the franchise's history because it's been so quiet we forget he's even here.
