Bold Vikings Prediction No. 2

Brian Flores will get the best of Jordan Love (again)

When the Vikings left Lambeau Field in October, Jordan Love was looking like a sunk cost for the Packers. With a trail of inconsistent play, Green Bay fans dialed up mock drafts and even thought about drafting Caleb Williams or Drake Maye to become their next quarterback of the future.

Love has steadied the ship since then and has thrown 16 touchdowns with just three interceptions over his last three games. While the Packers have faded from contention, it hasn’t been because of Love, who has taken advantage of beating poor defenses.

Over the last eight games, Love has faced just three teams that rank in the top 20 of PFF’s coverage grades this season.

In his last matchup against a top-five coverage unit, Love looked lost throughout the first half before throwing for 259 yards with a touchdown and an interception in an 18-17 comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints.

But there have also been moments that haven’t gone the young quarterback’s way. In a Week 5 matchup with the 12th-ranked Las Vegas Raiders, Love looked even more confused, throwing for just 182 yards and tossing three interceptions in a 17-13 loss.

Sunday’s game will provide another test as Minnesota ranks seventh in PFF’s coverage grades, but he could have some injury luck as the Vikings' top cornerback, Byron Murphy, is still dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of action last week.

If Flores can fluster Love, it should mean better things for Minnesota’s banged-up defense and put the Vikings on a path to victory on Sunday night.
