Vikings who may not be back in 2024

Jalen Reagor, WR/PR

There is a chance that Jalen Reagor might not even make the team for the 2023 season, but if he does complete his final year of his rookie contract, he likely won't be back for 2024 based on his play to this point.

Reagor averaged 6.4 yards per punt return, which placed him in the middle of the pack ranking him 16th among returners. On 28 punt return attempts, his longest run was 25 yards and he failed to be the weapon the Vikings thought they could use when trading for him.

The former first-round draft pick of the Eagles didn't impress as a receiver either, catching only 8 passes for 104 yards during his first year in Minnesota, addin g 25 yards on four rushing attempts for the purple and gold.

Minnesota has younger receiving options behind him on the depth chart who need an opportunity to prove they can shine. Moving on from Jalen Reagor likely won't be a salary cap issue but a move to just get younger and cheaper without losing production.

Despite that, Spotrac estimates his next contract will be worth approximately $4.6 million per year, and that just doesn't make sense for the Vikings.
