Vikings who may not be back in 2024

Jordan Hicks, LB

If not for taking a reduction in pay for the 2023 season, chances are that the Vikings might have moved on from Jordan Hicks before the season kicked off. Instead, he is set to become a free agent after this year.

Hicks will be 32 years old this year and he struggled in Minnesota's defense last season. The Vikings are likely to continue making a lot of changes on that side of the ball over the next few years, and getting younger and more inexpensive is likely to be the focus.

Experience will help Hicks in free agency. He has played in 109 games in his career, starting 106 of those and he is coming off his second-highest tackle total of his career by recording 129 combined tackles in 2023.

Fans shouldn't blame Jordan Hicks for wanting to cash in on a bigger contract toward the end of his career and they also should understand that finding a long-term answer at the position while saving money is smart for the Vikings.
