Prediction No. 2

K.J. Osborn will have a 100-yard game

Many fantasy football players are flocking to the waiver wire to pick up Jordan Addison this week, but K.J. Osborn could be the Vikings' top receiver in Jefferson’s absence.

Osborn has been more of a WR3 during his career, but he’s been capable of big performances. Osborn caught 10 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown in last year’s historical comeback against the Indianapolis Colts, and many teammates, including former Viking Adam Thielen, raved about his ability to someday become a top target in an offense.

“I think everyone’s been a little bit wrong about K.J.,” Thielen said on the Purple Insider podcast last May. “I just think that he is a WR1 in this league, and he has so much talent. …I think his attitude, his effort, and the way he approaches every single day. His mindset is one of the best I’ve ever been around.”

Thielen’s assessment didn’t make its way to the Vikings, who selected Addison in the first round of last year’s draft, but it may have made its way to Cousins, who targeted Osborn nine times in the loss to the Chiefs.

While Osborn has caught 50 percent of his targets this season, it’s clear that he’s someone that Cousins trusts – almost to a fault. This should mean a big workload for Osborn and a potentially breakout performance to save a disappointing season.
