Receiver No. 1

Denzel Mims

Denzel Mims was in the same draft class as Justin Jefferson, and many actually assumed he could end up with the Vikings before Jefferson fell into their laps. However, Mims' NFL career hasn't exactly gone the way he or many others projected it would.

He landed in the wide receiver hell that is the New York Jets. He then suffered some injuries and fell down their depth chart. He wound up requesting a trade as he and his representation believed he wasn't given a fair chance to showcase his skills.

Mims was eventually traded to the Detroit Lions this past summer, but he didn't make their final 2023 roster. Currently, he's a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad waiting for his call to the active roster.

Despite the horrific start to his NFL career, Mims is still only 25-years-old. He possesses good size and speed and has provided the occasional big play in his career.

The Vikings were rumored to be interested in acquiring him when he was being shopped around, and as a player who is still on his rookie contract and relatively young, he does fit the mold of what Minnesota general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been bringing in.
