Quarterback No. 5

Justin Fields (Chicago Bears)

Justin Fields is the key to how the 2024 NFL Draft will unfold.

If the Bears decide he's their quarterback of the future, they can trade the top overall pick, gain a haul, and land plenty of weapons to build around him.

If they want to move on, they can take Caleb Williams and then move Fields for picks and build up the rest of their roster. It's an interesting position for a team to be in, but if the Bears want to move on from Fields, the Vikings need to inquire.

There's almost a zero percent chance the Bears would trade Fields within the division, but if the compensation was right and they are confident in what they have with their team, they could shock everybody and make the move.

Fields is an interesting player. At times, he shows flashes of brilliance. He can throw some beautiful passes, dropping the ball into very tight windows, and he can also be dynamic with his legs, taking off and getting huge chunks of yardage on the ground. Other times, he's making horrible decisions and basically handing the ball over to his opponents.

One thing to remember about Fields is that he's had a new offensive coordinator every season he's been in the league, and that is extremely difficult for a veteran quarterback, let alone a young one, to deal with.

Fields in purple with weapons like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson could be a very dangerous combination. Again, it's doubtful the Bears would trade him to a rival, but if the Vikings offer enough, it could be a win-win for both sides.
