The Vikings' signing of free agent cornerback Byron Murphy was definitely a great thing for fans to see, but there is still no denying that the Minnesota corner room could use more help.

The team could very well end up taking a corner in the first round, but luckily for Minnesota, the 2023 draft class is deep when it comes to the secondary, meaning they can wait if they so choose. If the Vikings do pick a corner after round one, D.J. Turner II is a player that needs to be on their radar.

Even after an almost other-worldly showing at the 2023 NFL Combine, it appears that Turner is still being under-appreciated as a prospect. Turner's highlight of the combine was running a blazing 4.26 second 40 time, the fastest time for all prospects.

Not only did Turner put his athletic ability on full display during the combine, but he also had a very productive college career at Michigan, showing off his skills to go along with his insane athletic traits. Turner is a smaller prospect at the corner position, as his smaller frame could be a cause for concern in a physical NFL landscape.

While there is potential for Turner to be pushed around by larger receivers, there is no lack of aggressiveness with his play style, and you would be hard-pressed to find players who can outrun him.

Turner may not be the big bruising DB that is stereotypical in a Brian Flores defense, but he matches up well in one-on-one situations, which fits the Flores mold. He's oozing athleticism and has solid game tape to match, making Turner a prime option for Minnesota to draft and boost their ailing secondary.
