Should the Vikings draft a corner? Should the Vikings draft a safety? With prospect Julius Brents, there is potential for him to be either at the next level. Brents has the physical attributes to be a solid starting corner in the NFL, with a big build, impressive explosivity, and strong arms and hands being the perfect building blocks for a shutdown corner.

However, scouts believe that Brents could be a potentially elite player in the NFL if he switched to the safety position, which is echoed amongst many voices who are inside the know.

The Vikings will get Lewis Cine back during the upcoming season, but there is no telling if he will pan out as a prospect seeing as his rookie season was cut way too short due to a freak lower leg injury. Cam Bynum got all season to prove himself, and he left fans very underwhelmed with his play. Harrison Smith will be back next season, but he can't play forever, which begs the question of if Minnesota will spend another pick on a safety in this upcoming draft.

If Minnesota is looking for a safety, drafting Julius Brents and giving him a season to learn from Harrison Smith seems like a match made in heaven for the Vikings down the line. If Minnesota wants to use Brents at his natural corner position, he's got what it takes to excel there too.

Julius Brents has physical traits that just ooze potential, yet he seems to be rarely spoken about when it comes to prospects. The Minnesota Vikings are surely in need of secondary help, and Julius Brents is a plug-and-play athlete that could help them all over the field.
