Best Minnesota Vikings newcomer No. 2

Byron Murphy, cornerback

Moving on from Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler at cornerback was a bold decision, but bringing in Byron Murphy has been good for the Minnesota Vikings so far. The team signed the cornerback to a two-year deal to help a young roster grow and develop.

At 25 years old, Murphy is quite young himself. He will miss Minnesota's first matchup against the Lions, but has started 14 games for the Vikings and leads the team in pass defenses and interceptions this season.

A former member of the Arizona Cardinals, Murphy has been a solid tackler and an opportunist for the Vikings. He has forced a fumble as well as recovered a fumble this year to go with his solid coverage in Brian Flores' defense.

Murphy is under contract through the 2024 NFL season and should continue to help the secondary of the Minnesota Vikings while they continue to work on establishing the new look of the team under general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell.
