Ka'imi Fairbairn had a solid 2023 season, and this was while missing five games for the Texans. Fairbairn went 27-for-28 on field goals in the 12 games he played this year, showing that Houston really relied on him often when he was on the field.
The biggest concern with Fairbairn is that he has missed nine games in the past three years, which is a large amount for a kicker.
When Fairbairn is healthy, he has been a trustworthy kicker who can be relied upon to put up high-volume numbers.
He is only 30, which is spry for a kicker, and he has shown to be a capable high-end player, but the health issues are certainly cause for concern.
Can Minnesota take the chance on Fairbairn and hope he will stay healthy in 2024?
The recent experiment with pass rusher Marcus Davenport may scare off the Vikings from taking those kinds of chances, but Fairbairn could be cheap enough a signing to go for it.
