6 free agents who should be on the Vikings wish list for 2024

Free Agent No. 1
Chris Jones - DL
2023 Team: Kansas City Chiefs
This offseason, the Vikings will likely be looking to add some new talent to their defensive line, so why not just go after the best defensive lineman who will be available in Chris Jones?
Jones has been one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the league ever since he entered the NFL in 2016 when the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him with a second-round pick.
During his eight years with the Chiefs, Jones has been voted to the Pro Bowl five times, and he's earned two First-Team All-Pro selections. He's also helped Kansas City win multiple Super Bowls, so he knows what it takes for a team to capture a championship.
In 16 games for the Chiefs in 2023, he finished with 30 tackles (including 13 for a loss), 39 pressures, 10.5 sacks, and four pass deflections. Since 2018, opposing offensive linemen have just had no answers for Jones, as he's been able to rack up a total of 67 sacks.
At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Jones has the versatility to line up on the inside of the defensive line or on one of the two ends. With how Minnesota defensive coordinator Brian Flores likes to line up his top players all over the field, Jones would be a unique chess piece for the Vikings to utilize.
Minnesota really hasn't had a dominant defensive lineman who thrives in the interior since the days of Kevin Williams during the early 2000s. If the Vikings find a way to sign Jones this offseason, he would immediately become the best defensive lineman to put on a purple and gold uniform since Williams.
