6 free agents who should be on the Vikings wish list for 2024

Josh Allen - EDGE
2023 Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
No, not the Josh Allen who's pretending his relationship with former Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs isn't currently crumbling. Instead, we're talking about the Josh Allen who spent his time in 2023 terrorizing opposing quarterbacks as a member of the Jaguars.
Allen was selected by Jacksonville with the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and after racking up 10.5 sacks as a rookie, it seemed like he was going to spend the majority of his career as one of the league's most elite pass rushers.
A knee injury wound up limiting him to just eight games in 2020, but he was able to recover and establish himself as a solid piece of the Jaguars' pass rush in 2021 and 2022.
This past season is when Allen truly broke out and delivered a monster performance. In 17 games with Jacksonville, he finished with 66 tackles (including 17 for a loss), 17.5 sacks, 46 pressures, two forced fumbles, one pass deflection, and one interception.
Danielle Hunter did a masterful job out on the field for the Vikings last season, but he's going to be 30 next season, and if Minnesota is going to pay a premium for an edge rusher in 2024, they'd probably be better off giving their money to a guy like Allen, who is currently 26.
At 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, Allen is close in size to Hunter, so the Vikings would likely be able to use him in a similar way out on the field. Hunter has been great for Minnesota over the years, but with Allen, they could get younger at the position without really giving up any of the pass-rushing production.
