Free Agent No. 4

Tony Pollard - RB

2023 Team: Dallas Cowboys

This past season, Tony Pollard had the opportunity to be the No. 1 guy in the Cowboys' offensive backfield for the first time in his NFL career.

Pollard certainly wasn't terrible as the top running back for Dallas in 2023. However, his efficiency went in the wrong direction. He finished this past season with 1,005 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground, but his yards per rushing attempt dropped to 4.0, down from 5.2 in 2022.

In addition to his rushing numbers, Pollard also hauled in 55 passes for 311 yards for the Cowboys in 2023. Similar to his yards per carry experiencing a decrease, however, Pollard's yards per reception also took a dip this year as he averaged 5.7 yards per catch, compared to the 9.5 yards per reception he averaged in 2022.

Even with his efficiency going down this past season, Pollard should still be someone the Vikings consider bringing in when free agency begins in March.

He's still only 26, and he's already had more good seasons than bad, so it's believable to think he can turn things around in 2024.

If Minnesota could end up with production from Pollard that is somewhere in the middle of what he did in 2022 and 2023, then that would still be an upgrade over the majority of the running backs they are currently expected to have on their roster next season.
