Vikings Prediction No. 4

Dalton Risner and K.J. Osborn will leave in free agency

We are grouping Dalton Risner and K.J. Osborn together because both played prominent roles in Minnesota's offense last season.

While both players have a case to be brought back for 2024, the writing on the wall suggests the Vikings could be looking for an upgrade or a more cost-efficient solution for both of their spots on the roster.

Risner played well after taking over at left guard for Ezra Cleveland last October, but his run-blocking ability didn’t play out in the second half of the season. With the Vikings looking to create efficiency on the ground, finding another option in free agency could be suitable and the possibility of paying up for one of the top guards on the market shouldn’t be dismissed.

Osborn also played a big role as the third receiver but never took a step forward when given the opportunity. With the cost of receivers rising in free agency, the Vikings could look to let him walk and find a cheaper replacement in a strong draft class.

Both players could find their way back to Minnesota at the right price, but it feels like their time with the franchise is coming to an end.
