Vikings Prediction No. 5

The Vikings will sign at least three new defensive starters in free agency

In his first year as the team's defensive coordinator, Brian Flores did a tremendous job getting the most out of the Vikings’ defense in 2023.

But if Minnesota wants to reach another level on defense next season, they’ll need an influx of talent during free agency.

The Athletic's Alec Lewis suggested that the Vikings could have as many as eight new starters on defense for the 2024 season.

With Jordan Hicks, Danielle Hunter, Marcus Davenport, D.J. Wonnum all free agents, and Harrison Smith pondering retirement, it feels like an accurate assessment and relying on draft picks may not be enough for Minnesota to fill the holes.

We already mentioned Christian Wilkins at the beginning of this article, but that might only be the beginning. The Vikings have also been connected with a possible trade for L’Jarious Sneed and they could also look to throw money around to give Flores more to work with.
