7 free-agent cornerbacks the Vikings could sign in 2024

The Vikings already have plenty of young players in their cornerback group. The quality of those young players can be questioned, but if the Vikings coaching staff still believes in them, then they may look to add a journeyman veteran to the mix, and Ronald Darby would be a solid get.
The Vikings kicked the tires on Darby a few months back, and if the interest remains, they could sign him once free agency opens.
Darby isn't huge, standing just 5-foot-11 and weighing 193 pounds, but he's thick and sticky in coverage. He is more than willing to come up and lay the smackdown on a ball carrier, as his 345 career tackles attest to.
Darby's played both sides during his career and offers some versatility. He's also played for five different teams and different systems, so he's well-versed in NFL defenses and understands what NFL offenses are trying to do in certain situations.
He'd be very helpful in the development of the young talent on the roster and is only expected to cost around $2 million a year. Darby maybe isn't the splashiest of singings but he could end up being a solid one.
