Free-Agent Edge Rusher No. 3

Leonard Floyd

2023 Team: Buffalo Bills

If the Vikings are in need of a reliable pass rusher, Leonard Floyd, an edge rusher who spent last season in Buffalo, could be a great option.

Over the past four years, Floyd has consistently recorded at least nine sacks, and despite his age of 31, he is not your typical aging free agent. However, he may need to make some changes to his approach to enhance his pass-rushing abilities.

Floyd and Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell worked together in 2021 when they helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl. So, that connection exists already.

Although Floyd may not be the best pass-rushing option, he is one of the top No. 2 pass rushers in the league. Having Floyd on the team, alongside Danielle Hunter, could be an exhilarating prospect for the Vikings.

Minnesota struggled to produce on the edge once D.J. Wonnum was injured in 2023. Although Floyd may not be among the top-notch edge rushers, his skills could take the Vikings' defense to the next level in 2024, which will be vital for the team to reach the playoffs.
