Vikings Trade Target No. 3

Jonathan Allen - IDL (Washington Commanders)

Although the Commanders have named Dan Quinn their next head coach, if the new general manager, Adam Peters, wants to rebuild the current roster, every team should consider offering a first-round pick for Jonathan Allen.

For instance, if the Vikings can't move up into the top three for a quarterback in this year's NFL Draft and don't see any defensive player worth picking at No. 11, they could try to acquire Allen from Washington during the draft. Adding an elite player to the defensive line could be the missing piece to complete Minnesota's defense.

Allen has expressed his desire to win on several occasions, especially since he has only been part of one playoff team during his tenure as a Commander. His frustration was evident in multiple interviews following losses this past season.

If the Vikings aim to compete in 2024 and beyond, adding a player like Allen, who would provide some beef next to Harrison Phillips, and possibly another free-agent defensive lineman, could be an opportunity too good to miss for Minnesota's front office.

Additionally, the potential return of Danielle Hunter would be a significant boost to the team's defense with Allen in the mix as well.
