Through the first four weeks of the 2024 season, Aaron Jones has easily been one of the best new additions to the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran running back has fit in great with the Vikings offense, and his arrival has added a totally different dynamic to the team's backfield.

Unfortunately, Jones suffered an injury in the first half of Minnesota's Week 5 game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

The Vikings running back injured his hip in the opening half of the matchup and after being examined by the team's medical staff on the sideline, Minnesota declared him questionable to return. At the beginning of the third quarter, the Vikings downgraded his game status to out.

The severity of Jones's hip injury likely won't be known until Monday, but luckily, the Vikings are about to get some extra rest as the team has their bye in Week 6.

Preferably, Minnesota would like to have Jones available when they return from their bye in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. But the Vikings medical staff will likely need to do more tests on the running back to see if playing against the Lions in two weeks is a realistic possibility.

Heading into Sunday's matchup against New York, Jones had rushed for 321 yards and one touchdown in addition to catching 16 passes for 143 yards and another score in his four games with Minnesota this season.
