There has been a lot of attention given to running backs in free agency but Gus Edwards hasn't been getting nearly as much curiosity about where he will be signed and the Minnesota Vikings could be an interesting option.
Edwards had 810 yards on the ground and 13 rushing touchdowns last season, proving that he can find the end zone. He was also targeted 13 times in the pass game, catching 12 of those for 180 yards.
Shining in place of the injured J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards posted career highs in nearly every statistical category. He will be 29 years old when the 2024 NFL season rolls around and is expected to sign a deal worth approximately $3.6 million, according to Spotrac.
Edwards would fill the Alexander Mattison role well for the Minnesota Vikings while allowing Ty Chandler opportunities to have a role as part of a committee or to be used to offer a change of pace in the backfield.
