Possible Vikings RB Replacement No. 6

Blake Corum, Michigan

Wouldn't it be fun if the Minnesota Vikings ended up taking J.J. McCarthy to be their quarterback of the future only to pair him with his running back at Michigan, Blake Corum, a few rounds later in the 2024 NFL Draft?

To get Corum, Minnesota might have to move up into the third round of the draft, but it could be worth the trade. At 5-foot-8 and 205 pounds, Corum had an excellent senior year and raised his draft stock in a big way.

Last season, Blake Corum rushed for 1,245 yards and a whopping 27 touchdowns on 258 carries. He isn't likely to have that kind of success in the NFL, even if he is put in an ideal situation with a great offensive line and a commitment to running the ball.

Still, it's hard to deny that Corum has a nose for the end zone and the kind of production that will make coaches drool. However, he could benefit from being a part of a running back committee early in his career with a team like the Minnesota Vikings.
