Vikings training camp battle No. 4

Starting defensive end: Dean Lowry vs. Jonathan Bullard vs. Esezi Otomewo

Dalvin Tomlinson started at defensive end last year for the Minnesota Vikings but he is a member of the Cleveland Browns for the 2023 NFL season, opening up a spot in the trenches for another player to step into a starting role.

The top three options are all very different players. The likely favorite is former Packers starter Dean Lowry. The 29 year old defender is entering his eighth season in the league and has 80 games of starting experience.

Jonathan Bullard is also entering his eighth NFL season but has bounced around the league before coming to Minnesota. He started seven games for the Vikings last year and could be in line to have those duties again.

The wild card in this competition is Esezi Otomewo. He played only 89 defensive snaps as a rookie last season but flashed some brilliance when given opportunities. This is his chance to prove he can do it on a consistent basis.
