Vikings training camp battle No. 6
Starting wide receiver: K.J. Osborn vs. Jordan Addison
Receiver depth is one thing, but starters are another. Justin Jefferson will be one of the starters, but the departed Adam Thielen makes room for another player to step into the role opposite Jefferson and make an impact.
The Minnesota Vikings used their first-round draft pick in 2023 on USC wide receiver Jordan Addison. Being drafted that high is great, but it's no guarantee that he will be ready to step into a starting role immediately.
If Addison needs some time to prepare for a starting role, K.J. Osborn would be the most likely player to step into that role. So far, Osborn has excelled at every opportunity the Vikings have given him and it would be fun to see how high his ceiling really is.
Minnesota should be passing the ball fairly often this season and Justin Jefferson is likely to draw a lot of attention from defenses with T.J. Hockenson likely being the second option. Whoever wins this starting job will be stepping into a good spot with a wonderful opportunity to succceed.
