Wide Receiver (Depth)

There's no question how the top of the Vikings' 2023 wide receiver depth chart will shake out. Justin Jefferson is the best in the league, and rookie Jordan Addison will be the number two, with KJ Osbron returning as the third option. After that, it is anyone's guess.

The favorites heading into this competition are the veterans. Jalen Reagor was a former first-round pick who the Vikings gave up a decent amount for last year, They didn't get much out of that trade and will hope he can show more in camp this year. The other favorite is last year's sixth-round pick Jalen Nailor. He showed some promise in a limited role last year catching one touchdown and 179 yards on 13 targets.

While they are the favorites, they aren't locks. The Vikings also have players like Blake Proehl and Trishton Jackson who are still with the team, despite not making it a season ago. Proehl is a great route runner with sticky hands, and Jackson has great speed and good size. The Vikings also signed Brandon Powell who is a return specialist with some experience as a receiver who played with Kevin O'Connell in Los Angeles.

The Vikings also signed a handful of undrafted free-agent wide receivers who are interesting. There's the former quarterback in Cephus Johnson, the Cordarrelle Patterson-esque Malik Knowles, and shifty and quick Thayer Thomas.

The Vikings kept just five receivers last year so we could potentially have eight players battling for two spots. This will bring the best out in everyone and should make it a tough call for the Vikings' front office.
