Best Vikings roster decision No. 2

Josh Metellus, everything

Josh Metellus is listed as safety, but he does pretty much anything the Minnesota Vikings ask him to do. The team surprised a lot of fans by agreeing to a contract extension with him this offseason to keep him around through the 2025 NFL season.

Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has found ways to use Metellus in multiple ways to add an interesting dimension to attacking opposing offenses. His versatility was seemingly noticed almost immediately by the team's coaches.

Not only does Josh Metellus do so much on defense, but he also plays about half of the team's special teams snaps. He has gone from a backup safety to a key player in two important phases of the game.

Recognizing what Josh Metellus can do and locking him down to an extension was a great roster decision for the Minnesota Vikings. Expect the 25-year-old defender to stay in purple and gold for a long time.
