Best Vikings roster decision No. 5

Dalvin Cook, running back

Going a different decision with this one, the Minnesota Vikings definitely made the right decision by moving on from running back Dalvin Cook this offseason. Sometimes, addition by subtraction is a real thing.

Minnesota's run game has been anemic this season, but so has Dalvin Cook's rushing ability with the New York Jets. He has only had 66 carries with the Jets and has earned 210 yards on those attempts for an average of 3.2 yards per carry.

Cook has been moving down the Jets' depth chart as the season has gone on. At the moment, he is listed as the backup to young star Breece Hall but was lower on the chart before Michael Carter was released in November.

Make no mistake that the Minnesota Vikings will be looking for ways to improve their rushing attack after this season, but things likely wouldn't be any better if the team had continued paying top dollar for the services of Dalvin Cook.
