The Minnesota Vikings have been active in free agency but still have work to do before the start of the 2024 NFL season.

As the Minnesota Vikings prepare for the kickoff of the 2024 NFL season, the team's roster is beginning to take shape. Free agents have been signed this offseason to fill some of the bigger gaps on the roster but there are still more potential Vikings to add in free agency or during the 2024 NFL Draft.

Minnesota has been active in free agency by meeting with and signing several free agents, focusing primarily on reinforcing the defense. That unit suffered major losses in free agency but has since seen some replenishment thanks to Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and his team evaluating and signing talent early in free agency.

Despite the transactions Minnesota has made so far this offseason, there is still a significant amount of work for the front office to do before they are ready for the kickoff of the 2024 NFL season. There is so much talent in the league and the NFC North in particular that assembling the best possible roster is essential to being competitive during the upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see how the Vikings choose to address their current deficiencies moving forward. Minnesota still has plenty of time and opportunities to add talent and fill out their roster to have the depth and talent necessary to come out on top in close games.

Failing to address their needs will leave the Minnesota Vikings with weaknesses that can be exploited by opponents during the upcoming season. At the moment, it doesn't look like the team has too many glaring needs, but bolstering these six units before the start of the 2024 NFL season would be highly advised for competitive purposes.
