Should the Lions really be the favorites to win the division?

Last season, the Minnesota Vikings won 13 games and earned the title of NFC North champions. However, oddsmakers don't see the purple and gold as a team that will be able to defend the division title in 2023.

The Detroit Lions won nine games last year and narrowly missed the playoffs. They are going to be a tough team, especially if they can get another good season out of quarterback Jared Goff and improve on their terrible defense from last year.

With the Lions being the trendy pick to win the division, it's a bit hard not to take offense to that as a Vikings fan. Although Minnesota won several close games last year and may not be as fortunate this season, they should still win quite a few games.

Expecting the Minnesota Vikings to win 13 games again would be a bit foolish. However, there is no reason to think they will have an epic collapse to the point where they have a losing record or won't be competitive in the division.
