Minnesota Vikings stick with familiarity for 2024 practice squad

Every single player who agreed to sign with the Vikings practice squad this year was waived or released by the team before the final roster was submitted on Tuesday. This means every player currently on Minnesota's practice squad spent at least part of training camp and the preseason with the franchise.

This is good news for the Vikings, as it allows them to continue to develop some of the younger players they had on their roster this summer, like Richter, linebacker Dallas Gant, pass rusher Andre Carter II, running back DeWayne McBride, and wide receiver Jeshaun Jones.

For those unfamiliar with some of the practice squad rules, when the regular season begins, Minnesota will be allowed to elevate up to two members from the practice squad to the active roster for each game without having to sign either player to the active roster. This can be done three times for each member of the Vikings practice squad, and if the team wants to elevate a player for a fourth time, they must sign them to their active roster.

Who will end up being the first two players from Minnesota's practice squad to be elevated to the team's active roster before the regular-season opener against the New York Giants?
