Other Possible Teams
Dallas Cowboys
Tony Pollard is the No. 1 guy for the Dallas Cowboys in the backfield now, and despite sustaining a serious ankle injury back in January, he's expected to be on the field for the regular-season opener against the New York Giants in a few weeks.
With a combined 45 carries in the NFL since 2020, however, the Cowboys' running back depth chart behind Pollard is full of question marks. It's possible that Dallas might give Dalvin Cook a call if they begin to develop some concerns about their running back room after a preseason game or two.
But other than former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress recently sharing his belief that Cook is going to sign with the Cowboys this year, there has been nothing recently about Dallas having any interest in adding the former Vikings running back.
Las Vegas Raiders
With Josh Jacobs still refusing to sign his franchise tender, the Las Vegas Raiders are in desperate need of a top running back. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising at all if the Raiders rescinded Jacobs' franchise tag, which would make him a free agent, and then went out and signed Cook.
There has been no real reported interest in Cook from Las Vegas. But again, if the situation with Jacobs results in his departure, the Raiders could emerge as a top landing spot for the former Minnesota running back.
Indianapolis Colts
The situation with Jonathan Taylor has gone from bad to worse during the last few weeks for the Indianapolis Colts. Taylor recently asked for a trade and no one really knows if the Colts are going to figure out a way to keep him around for the upcoming season.
Indianapolis did just sign Kenyan Drake to help make up for Taylor's absence. But if things truly do fall apart with Taylor, Cook could potentially end up being pursued by the Colts if he's still available.
