Danielle Hunter and the Minnesota Vikings agreed on a restructured deal over the weekend and the details of the new deal have been released. The former third-round pick is set to make $10 million guaranteed and has $3 million in incentives.

Something that definitely stands out is the fact that the Vikings will take a major cap hit in 2023 as a result of this deal. They could have spread out the money there over the next few years but opted to take all of it this year instead. Fortunately, they have the cap space to absorb this hit.

Danielle Hunter's contract details

The Vikings spent a third-round pick on Hunter in the 2015 NFL Draft and he's gone on to become a special player for them. He's coming off yet another double-digit sack season (10.5, to be exact) and was named to his third Pro Bowl.

Hunter was originally slated to earn $4.9 million this year but now will earn $17 million, per Tom Pelissero of NFL.com. After trade rumors started circulating, the Vikings will hold onto Hunter for another year and hopefully, the rest of the cap the Vikings have can be used to extend Justin Jefferson.
