With the switch to a Brian Flores defensive scheme that will likely use some Big Nickel formations at times, there seems to be a necessity for more safeties on Minnesota's roster this season.

Josh Metellus has been getting a bunch of praise this summer, and Cam Bynum is an underrated candidate to have a breakout performance in 2023 in his second season as a starter.

Lewis Cine still has plenty of questions surrounding him, but the Vikings are hoping that he is able to take some significant steps in his development this year.

Greg Joseph has been on fire this preseason, which is hopefully just a preview of what's to come for him during the regular season.

Ryan Wright was a surprise selection for the final roster in 2022, but he more than proved his worth out on the field last season. Wright has punted well again this summer, and there's no reason to think this won't continue during his second year with the Vikings.
