Former Minnesota Vikings who are still free agents

Pat Elflein, offensive line

A third-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, offensive lineman Pat Elflein started 43 games at center before exiting the team and heading to the New York Jets in 2020. He finished one season there but played the next two with the Carolina Panthers.

Elflein may have primarily played center in Minnesota but both the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers got him some action at guard during his time there, adding to his value by increasing his versatility.

Turning 29 years old this year, Elflein has a lot of gas in the tank. With youth, experience, and versatility as his major assets, it's shocking he hasn't found his way onto an NFL roster by this point in free agency.

The only thing that seems like it could keep him from signing somewhere is compensation. His last deal with the Panthers saw him earn $4,5 million per season and teams likely don't want to spend that to acquire him.
