Former Vikings potentially going to Dallas No. 1

D.J. Wonnum - EDGE

Although he's not technically a former Minnesota Vikings player, D.J. Wonnum is bound to have some interested suitors when free agency starts. One team that could be interested for the right price is the Dallas Cowboys.

Having a stable of quality pass rushers would ensure that Mike Zimmer can get the kind of pressure he typically likes to get in his defensive schemes. It's not that Dallas lacks edge rushers, but they could always use more.

Being able to rotate a productive player like Wonnum into a defense would help to keep the unit fresh while not having a massive drop-off in talent. At only 26 years old, Wonnum has had two seasons with eight sacks in his four years in Minnesota.

They likely won't be going after a higher-priced free agent like Danielle Hunter, but D.J. Wonnum is an athletic pass rusher who could contribute to making things a little easier on the Cowboys' defensive backs in 2024.
