Former Vikings potentially going to Dallas No. 2

Mackensie Alexander - CB

Mike Zimmer likes cornerbacks who can handle multiple roles. Although he tended to struggle as a nickel defender, Mackensie Alexander has experience taking on a few different duties in the Minnesota Vikings secondary.

Alexander spent the 2022 season with the Cowboys but only started and played in one game after being elevated from the practice squad. A groin injury sidelined him, and he was eventually released by Dallas.

Under Zimmer, Alexander had four sacks and ten pass defenses in 2018. Since then, he has struggled to find a role and stay on the field. His former head coach might be interested to see what the former Vikings defensive back can do in Dallas.

If nothing, seeing what Alexander has to offer in training camp should be appealing to Dallas. The fact that they were interested before and will need to add some bodies in the secondary this offseason could make him an interesting signing.
